Rupert and Angela from Action coach having a meeting

Brand shoot for Action Coach Business Coaches Angela & Rupert

Angela & Ruperts brand shoot for their business ‘Action coach oakham’

I met Angela & Rupert at a networking event locally in Rutland and instantly warmed to them. As is the norm with these things, everyone had to give a brief description about themselves and their businesses. Angela and Rupert were drawn to the fact that I love to capture the people behind the business and not just standard headshots. We began chatting about how they might like to show up online and before long we had a date in the diary for their brand shoot.

On our pre shoot call we discussed all of the things that make up their world, from their gorgeous dog Ella (AKA Chief Curiosity Officer), to Rupert’s love of cycling, their love of the outdoors and also of course their passion for helping other businesses achieve their goals. We also wanted to capture some images of them in a training environment because this is something they do a lot of and so a plan was formed to bring in other people in the office space to act as ‘clients’ for the shoot.

The day of the shoot

Angela and Rupert had opted for my 3 hour brand session, even with the 3 hours I knew we would need to work quickly to make sure we captured all of the shots we needed. We had a few moving parts to factor in, Ella, their gorgeous dog couldn’t stay with us all day so we need to make sure we had time to drop her home after the first set of shots in the woods and we also needed to make sure that our lovely volunteers were ready in the afternoon to act as students for the training shots as well as the client consultations.

Ahead of the shoot I had given Angela and Rupert a list of everything they would need for the shoot along with ideas on outfit changes. This is why it is so important to have the pre shoot call, I needed to know how they wanted to be portrayed, what they wanted their brand images to say about them and also where they may want to use the images and what for. We knew that we needed images of Rupert in his cycling gear because this was a big passion of his and he also runs a ‘netcycling’ (networking and cycling) group, we needed walking gear for the images of them with Ella and we also needed some business casual shots of them working separately and together in their offices.

Our 3 hours together were fast paced but we managed to capture some fantastic images for their website and socials.
